Louisiana Nursing Facility Administrators (NFA) Practice Exam

The Assistant in Training (AIT) program is designed to prepare individuals for the role of a nursing facility administrator by exposing them to various departments within the facility. While training, it is essential for the AIT to gain experience in areas that provide a comprehensive understanding of facility operations, including social services, rehabilitation, and nursing.

However, serving in the capacity of the Director of Nursing is not compatible with the AIT role. The Director of Nursing has specific responsibilities and duties that are focused on overseeing clinical care and maintaining nursing standards, which may divert the AIT’s focus from the broader administrative training they are meant to receive. This role is more specialized and does not align with the cross-functional training that the AIT program aims to provide. By not serving in the capacity of the Director of Nursing, the AIT can fully engage in the overall administrative training necessary to effectively manage a nursing facility.
